What is EDI 832?

An EDI 832 is a price/sales catalog which replaces a paper catalog and is used to electronically exchange detailed product and price information between a supplier and its trading partners, including retailers and distributors.

This electronic document complies with the ANSI X12 EDI specification.

Benefits of the EDI 832

All EDI documents are securely encrypted in transit, allowing trading partners to send sensitive data such as pricing and contact information safely. Implementing the 832 price/sales catalog offers benefits to both the retailer or distributor (receiver)) and the supplier (sender). Without using an EDI 832, manufacturers would need to update the product and communicate the information manually to their trading community.
